Family Kneads is a cottage bakery in Boerne / Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas, specializing in long-fermented sourdough breads and artisan baked goods. Founded in April 2025 by Drew and Kathleen Meyer, Family Kneads is a true family affair, built on a love of real food, slow processes, and togetherness. We believe the best things in life take time — great bread, strong families, and deep roots in community.
We're the Meyer family — avid foodies, bakers, and homeschoolers with a passion for entrepreneurship. What started as a fun way to teach our kids about business has grown into Family Kneads, a full-time business built on love, learning, and community. This is not a side hustle, it's our life and we do it together.

Behind every delicious creation at Family Kneads is Kat Meyer, a passionate baker, mother of five, and the hands that bring every dough to life.
Married to her high school sweetheart Drew, Kat is the heart and soul of Family Kneads. Entirely self-taught, she crafts every sourdough, mixes every batch of cookie dough, and has developed the recipes that keep our customers coming back week after week. She's fiercely detail-oriented; the running joke around the house is that she's the "Director of Chaos," a title she's earned not just at home with five kids, but through 15 years as an immigration paralegal and her time as a regional event coordinator. Turns out, managing organized chaos is the perfect training for running a bakery.
Her journey from baking for her family to founding a bakery that serves hundreds of families reflects her dedication to quality, community, and doing things the right way which is with patience, love, and a whole lot of flour.
When she's not in the bakery kitchen, you'll find Kat doing another thing she loves which is teaching. Each week at her kids' homeschool co-op, she teaches middle school Spanish and a U.S. Geography class with a unique food twist, tying a dish or tasting to each state they study. Whether she's teaching someone to bake, leading a classroom, or perfecting a recipe, sharing what she knows brings her the most joy.
Behind the scenes and often right in front of the oven is Drew Meyer, our operations expert and Kat's high school sweetheart.
With over 20 years in tech and marketing, Drew brings a unique skill set that perfectly complements the baking talent in the family. He handles business operations, logistics, branding, packaging, and creates the stunning food photography that showcases Family Kneads creations. But Drew is far from just a behind-the-scenes guy, he manages much of the baking, running the ovens and bringing Kat's handcrafted doughs to their golden, crusty finish. His strategic mindset and attention to detail help turn every batch into something the whole community can enjoy.
Creating sweet magic in our kitchen is Lindsey Meyer, our talented 15-year-old daughter with a remarkable passion for pastry arts.
With over five years of baking experience, Lindsey has developed skills that go well beyond her years. She's our resident chocolate expert and the talent behind our macarons, bringing creativity and precision to everything she touches, from crafting frostings and piping cakes and cupcakes to dreaming up new chocolate creations. When she's not baking, you'll find her exploring her love for Asian and Japanese cuisine, whipping up dishes like katsu chicken, Japanese curries, onigiri, and more.

Kaylee is our kitchen explorer who loves tackling new recipes, look for her signature sour cream chocolate muffins on our menu soon! When she's not experimenting in the kitchen, she's helping build packaging boxes, load up order bags, and is learning the art of frosting and glazing.
Natalie is an aspiring artist who brings her creative eye to everything she does. She's right alongside Kaylee assembling packaging, prepping orders for customers, and picking up new skills like glazing. During busy holiday pickups, you might even spot her and Kaylee helping take names at the door.
Madison & Thomas are our littlest helpers in training but not quite ready for the kitchen yet, but always nearby. Madison is already a passionate food lover, and we have no doubt she'll be joining the baking ranks soon. Thomas is never far behind his sisters, so it's only a matter of time.
